Sadly fathers are not as appreciated as mothers are, and the same can be said when it comes to buying gifts on fathers days. If you’re a dad and you get a card, think yourself lucky. Many dads are not appreciated and completely forgotten on this special day. Father’s day always falls on the third Sunday of June and the card shops will be in full swing for this day weeks leading up to it.

This year why not treat your dad to a great day out. Experience days are all the rage with more and more popping up all the time. If you’re smart and buy a couple of tickets you might get invited along. There are plenty of days out for those dads that like a thrill. You can get a day at Silverstone race track and get to drive a supercar around the track. You can even be a passenger and be driven around by a seasoned pro.

Adrenalin junkies would love to go Sphereing. This is a new extreme sport where you are put into a 12 foot inflatable ball and rolled down a steep hill. You get strapped in opposite a friend or loved one before you go tearing down a hill at speeds of up to 30mph. Apparently the general reaction is to laugh hysterically as you roll and bounce down the hill. If you were to join him on this day out it would be a great bonding experience for you and your dad.

If your dad loves films and is an avid fan of say the science fiction show Doctor Who, why not treat your dad to a Doctor Who locations tour. If you love the show two if you buy two tickets he might invite you along. You would both have a great day, one to remember for years to come. If you think he would rather go alone, he will still have a blast as he will meet lots of likeminded fans and possible meet some new friends for life. There are tours for many different famous films with trips to the locations. If your dad is a sixties child he may be a seasoned Beatles fan. There are London walks and tours dedicated to the famous four which fans would lap up.

Make this father’s day one he won’t forget. Buying the usual chocolates or socks is all good and well and shows you haven’t forgotten, but if you buy him a day out he will have something to plan and look forward too. It might make him think more carefully when it’s your birthday and it’s time for him to buy you a gift. Also you only get one dad and if you’re lucky enough to have him in your life make it a day that really shows just how much he means you to.

For more information on the many London Film Locations check out Brit Movie tours. They also offer many other tours including the Beatles Tour of London, Doctor Who Tours, Gavin and Stacey tours and much more.
